I’ve just been having a bit of a rant at myself.
Brainwashed eco-dogooders want a Hydro-Electric power facility installed in the river weir of our village immediately opposite where I live. They believe such a facility will have no noise or vibrational impact and that it will power 60 homes. It’s totally delusional but the project is steaming ahead.
I am, proactively, going to a meeting in a few weeks to get more info and attempt to inject some reason into the proceedings. I only know about such a project because I decided, contrary to my usual behaviour, to have attended a parish council meeting a little while ago.
I don’t believe these people are evil. I don’t believe that they have malicious intent. I do, however, believe they are massively propagandised and, also, want to ‘look good’.
There is definitely ego involved and, despite the fact they have cultural and institutional backing, they don’t necessarily have that much genuine community spirit given that no one, including myself and my fellow apartment block residents, have been consulted about any of the impact.
This is a situation directly affecting me and the peace and harmony I came back to this area for. I cannot deny it is irritating but I also have to acknowledge that getting angry doesn’t help me either.
We can viscerally feel anger damaging us when we indulge it. It is humbling to accept that there are things out of our control. I am putting myself into action to get more info and exercise any influence I can have on this situation because it is highly localised. You have to choose your focus and I believe you have to go into these situations positively, motivated by wanting things to be better.
Go in to win.
Go in believing you can.
